King Motor Cars (better known as King Motors) was Kington Langley's only specialist car manufacturer. It was sold to the VLT Group in April 2010 and merged into the newly formed VLT Kington Langley to increase profits and efficiency, the company's factory in Kingstown is still making cars under the name of King Motors today, however the company itself has ceased to exist with only their design team and badge remaining

History
Formation
The company was formed as part of Howitzer Cars as its upper end range and so government owned, it produced over 20 models while in government ownership from luxury estate cars to formula 1 racing vehicles. They produced 4 types of racing car, 1 was used by the national team in the Kington Langley Grand Prix in 2008. The company ran semi-independently with its own but small board of directors, all of which were ministers of the government.

Independent years
When the recession began to hit the government hard, they decided to privatise Howitzer cars and sell it to the car's designer, William Howitzer. King Motors was then made King Motors independent, they brought out their first car within 2 months which started a chain reaction of new designs, the company produced well over 30 designs over their lifetime which made them one of the most successful luxury car companies in the world. Even though it began to export to other countries it still only maintained one factory in Kingstown in Northern Great Langley which caused the waiting list for cars to increase. In early 2009 the company planned to purchase 2 more factories which would more than double the number of cars they could make a year, they also planned on expanding to other nations and the former CEO Robert Jenkins even announced in a press conference that the company was planning on dropping their 'luxury car' title and becoming a global mass-production car manufacturer and by March 2010 they planned to start expanding to other nations. But in early March 2010 they were nationalised but new CEO, Minister of Transport James Harris planned to keep the company's agenda the same.

VLT Group
In April 2010, just one month after the company had been nationalised and announced massive expansion, their owner, the government, was suffering more and more financially every day due to the recession. They finally reached a decision to sell 60% of the company to the VLT Group of Van Luxemburg. The deal was finalised and a condition of the deal was to merge King Motors into the newly created VLT Kington Langley, the company's dreams where shattered as the company was merged, the marque and design team was kept as they now serve as the luxury car range of VLT Kington Langley, they still design and badge the cars but are no longer a seperate company. There is rumours that VLT wish for VLT Kington Langley to completely dissolve King Motors as VLT already has a luxury car manufacturer.

Popularity
The company had always been moderately popular within the people as it was a national symbol. When the company was sold and gutted, there was a tremendous amount of public outcry as the company was doing perfectly fine and there was no clear reason other than profit why the government decided to sell it to foreign ownership. The way King Motors went has made several people worry about whether or not the country is going the same way as Britain with its mass privitisation schemes.
