The Kington Langley Space Agency (KLSA) is a branch of the Kingtonian government responsible for Kington Langley's civil space program. To date they own and operate a small fleet of satellites and are planning to send manned missions into space within the next 2 years. The agency was only created in May 2010 after the required legislation finally gained an overall majority in the House of Lords. The new agency has been granted an office in Parliament Square, home to Kington Langley largest companies and most important government agencies showing the extent of governmental interest in space development and exploration.

History[]

Creation[]

A Kingtonian space agency was announced by the government mere days after ecieving independence as BNSC had been planning to build a space centre at Kingsford when Great Langley, as it was called then, was still a British colony. The government then had to further halt plans as the Kingtonian civil war erupted, the legislation was then pushed to the very bottom of the agenda for the government.

After the defeat of the old country of Kington Langley, the new nation kept the idea of a space agency at the bottom of the agenda. This was mainly due to lack of support in the House of Lords as a space agency would put a strain on Kington Langley's economy which did not appeal to the capitalist conservative peers.

But in January 2010, the Grand Duke was finally persuaded to back the idea, this led the peers to finally accept the legislation and on the 12th January 2010 the legislation was passed. Finally, on the 1st May the agency had been set up and organised by the government. The creation of the agency led to 19,000 new jobs and also widespread public support. Parliament has so far endorsed the new agency, even though several members of the Lord still oppose the creation of a space agency.
